Confidentiality protects both the candidates and the integrity of the search process. Many candidates currently serve other churches and should not be placed in a difficult position before God clearly directs their next step. We want to be respectful and responsible to all involved in this process. 

 

Yes. Any recommendations require the candidate submit their letter of interest and resumé to Elder Payne at PastoralSearchSBC2026@yahoo.com for prayerful consideration. They will be required to answer some preliminary screening questions to help aid the committee in understanding their goals intention and vision. 

 

The candidates are evaluated based on biblical qualifications doctrine, ministry experience, educational preparation, leadership, character and how well they align with the mission and vision of the church.

Our hope is to complete the search within approximately six months; however, we will remain sensitive to the leading and timing of the Holy Spirit.

Our committee is prayerfully seeking God’s direction throughout this process. We will thoroughly review each candidate’s resumé, ministry experience, references, theology, leadership style, and sermons. Every candidate is being evaluated with the same care and according to the qualifications outlined in Scripture, not personal preference.  

 

Through word of mouth, Facebook, Instagram, and Minister agencies. Candidates will apply on SBC website by filling out an application and submitting a resumé. Also, uploading ministerial license and ordination certificate.  

Yes. While the search committee is responsible for conducting the search and presenting a qualified candidate, the church will have the opportunity to hear the candidate and participate according to our church’s bylaws before a final decision is made.

 

Yes, recommendations are welcome if they follow the process established by the committee. Every candidate will be prayerfully considered and evaluated using the same biblical standards and selection criteria.

 

The greatest support you can give is prayer. Pray for wisdom, unity, discernment, and God’s perfect will — not only for the committee, but also for the pastor whom God is preparing and for our church family as we walk through this season together.

The committee will keep members informed every two weeks. 

 

Pray for the pastor the Lord wants us to have. Pray for the Pastoral Search Committee. Pray for the church as a whole, for unity and peace.

Pastor Carter is our interim pastor. He will be providing leadership in that area.

Yes, regular worship on Sunday’s and Sunday School. Also bible study on Wednesday.

Yes, regular tithes and offering pays the bills and support ongoing missions.
